The German Music Council
without Music:
INSOLVENCY
The German Music Council has reached its deepest point
“Corrupt wheeling and dealing in political music business has merely run into the omnipotent harmony laws of the microcosm of music”, so the classical composer and musicologist Peter Huebner comments on the insolvency of the German Music Council.
In recent years, the President of the German Music Council in office had made the headlines for officially accusing the new German classical composer we just quoted of incapability and deception. The SPIEGEL reported about this case in a four-page article.
Prof. Dr. Mueller-Heuser was also principal of the university for music in Cologne. During 1965-1969 Peter Huebner was registered at this college, but was exempt from the entire college studies, as a result of the scores presented, and able to use all facilities and equipment in the college (within the context of extraordinary exception procedures granted by Johannes Rau, the head of the college and Minister of Science for the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
The President of the German Music Council and/or Principal of the university of music in Cologne, Prof. Dr. Mueller-Heuser, now thought that he had to declare publicly through the left-wing German Lutheran Church magazine the SPIEGEL that Peter Huebner had in fact never been registered at the university of music in Cologne implying that this part of his biography published by the international music-publishers Aar Edition was a lie and a deception:
| “... Subsequently he transferred to the university of music in Cologne, where, supposedly, ‘though registered’, ‘he was exempt from all lessons being the absolute exception’. This exactly is nowadays denied by the institute (note: the university of music in Cologne): ‘Peter Huebner’s studies’ could not ‘be proven’; he had been ‘accepted on a trial basis for the winter term 1965/66, due to his talent which had not been clearly proven’, had in vain made ‘an application for financial support’, and had then wanted a two-term vacation; ‘after that, there is no trace of him’ ”. |

SPIEGEL end of quotation.
However, then it was established that Aar Edition’s report had been absolutely correct meaning Prof. Dr. Mueller-Heuser’s publication had been a lie, and that the President of the German Music Council together with the SPIEGEL was trying to publicly denigrate the classical composer and musicologist Peter Huebner, and to deny the public the truth about the musical career of the most successful contemporary classical composer.
The fact that he was spreading these tall stories aiming at a public defamation has now catapulted Prof. Dr. Mueller-Heuser from his lucrative and image seeking music posts at least that of the principal of the university of music in Cologne, as well as the president of the German Music Council.
